Andreea Birtan
Physician Assistant PA-C
Andreea is a board-certified physician assistant. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Pace University and began her career as a Plastic Surgery PA here at APSNS working alongside Dr. Tanovic. Andreea has assisted in a variety of cosmetic, reconstructive and hand surgeries in several hospitals throughout Long Island and Manhattan.Â
In addition to her role in the operating room, Andreea specializes in various nonsurgical aesthetic services. These include neurotoxins, injectables, Vivace RF microneedling, advanced laser treatments, Ultherapy and non-surgical body sculpting. Andreea also has a deep passion for skincare, with an extensive knowledge of all of the latest ingredients. She believes in an individualized approach to enhancing each patient’s natural beauty.
Andreea is an active member of both the New York State Society of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She also serves as a preceptor for Hofstra PA students on their Plastic Surgery rotation.Â
In her free time, Andreea enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new restaurants throughout NYC. Â
Diane Farrell
Nurse
Diane has been an integral part of our team at APSNS. She has been a nurse for over 50 years, 17 of those years working closely with Dr. Tanovic. Her extensive experience, including her previous role at Plainview Hospital, underscores her deep expertise and dedication to patient care. Diane's exceptional skills and compassionate approach make her a key member of our practice, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, attentive care throughout their surgical journey.Â
Her commitment to excellence and her supportive demeanor contribute significantly to the positive experiences of everyone she encounters. In her free time, Diane loves watching reality tv and spending time with her family and labradoodle- Daisy.
Alexis Karapanagiotides
Patient Coordinator/ Esthetician
With over a decade of experience in the medical field, Alexis brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for patient care to our practice. For the past seven years, Alexis has specialized in working within plastic surgery offices, honoring her expertise in esthetics and patient coordination.Â
Alexis earned her Associates Degree in Science and is a licensed esthetician, having completed her advanced training at Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics. Her dual expertise in medical and esthetic fields allows her to provide exceptional care and personalized attention to our patients. Driven by a genuine desire to help others, Alexis is dedicated to making every patient’s experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. In her free time, Alexis loves caring for her dogs and exploring the latest medical-grade skincare products.
Senka Somo
Office Manager
For over 10 years, Senka has been a vital part of Advanced Plastic Surgery, bringing extensive experience and a compassionate approach to patient care. With a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, she has the insight to understand and meet the unique needs of each patient. Senka is tasked with overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring that patients receive an exceptional experience.Â
